Louise Penny is a Canadian author of mystery novels set in the Canadian province of Quebec centered on the work of Chief Inspector Armand Gamache of the Surete du Quebec. Her first novel in the series, Still Life, was published in 2005, and 12 novels later, her last book, Glass Houses was published in 2017 and has been named to Amazon’s Best Books of 2017 and Barnes and Noble Best Fiction Books of 2017 lists. Penny’s first career was a radio broadcaster for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. After she turned to writing, she won numerous awards for her work, including the Agatha Award for best mystery novel of the year five times, including four consecutive years (2007-2010), and the Anthony Award for best novel of the year five times, including four consecutive years (2010-2013). Penny currently lives in Knowlton, a small village in Quebec’s Eastern Townships near Montreal.
