Pulitzer Prize-Winning Science Writer and Journalist
Elizabeth Kolbert is an American journalist, author and staff writer for The New Yorker. She is best known for her Pulitzer Prize-winning book The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History, a book about mass extinctions that weaves intellectual and natural history with reporting in the field. The book was a New York Times 2014 Top 10 Best Book of the Year and is number one on the Guardian’s list of the 100 Best Nonfiction Books of all time. She is also the author of Field Notes from a Catastrophe: Man, Nature, and Climate Change, which was chosen of one of the 100 Notable Books of the Year by The New York Times Book Review. Her latest book is Under a White Sky: The Nature of the Future and was named one of the best books of the year by The Washington Post, Time, Smithsonian Magazine, and Publishers Weekly.
