A master of narrative non-fiction, Erik Larson’s vividly written, meticulously researched, bestselling books have won several awards and been published worldwide. His most recent book, The Demon of Unrest (April 2024) shares with us a gripping account of the chaotic months between Abraham Lincoln’s election and the Confederacy’s shelling of Fort Sumner. His other bestselling works include National Book Award winner, The Devil in the White City, The Splendid and the Vile, Dead Wake, and In the Garden of Beasts.
Larson studied Russian history at the University of Pennsylvania and earned a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. In addition to his nonfiction books, Larson has written numerous articles for The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly, Harper’s, Time and The Wall Street Journal.
