Health & Safety
As we return to our live Pen & Podium programs, the well-being of all our patrons is paramount. Protocols for attending in-person events will be developed in conjunction with the Newman Center for the Performing Arts health guidelines, and we appreciate your flexibility as these are updated over the course of the season.

Requirements for Attending In-Person Events

We want to inform you that proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours WILL BE REQUIRED by the Newman Center for the Performing Arts. We will post additional information prior to the event with further clarification. At this time we anticipate that the lobby concessions will be open.

Please See Below for Additional Safety Guidelines:
– Face coverings must be worn indoors and throughout the event (except when eating or drinking) 
– Maintain 6’ distance between households whenever possible (does not apply while seated in venue) 
– Wash/sanitize hands often 
– Symptom monitoring – by attending Pen & Podium event, you certify to the best of your knowledge that you are not experiencing the following: 

-Muscle/body aches 
-New loss of taste/smell 
-Sore throat 
-Congestion/runny nose 
-Known COVID-19 exposure 
-Tested positive for COVID-19 


The Newman Center for the Performing Arts is located at the southwest corner of East Iliff Avenue & South University Boulevard; approximately 1 mile south of the University Boulevard exit off Interstate 25. Click here for google map.

The Newman Center parking garage is located 1 block south of the Newman Center (University & Wesley.) Unless otherwise noted, parking is $10. Upon payment, a parking attendant will provide you with a permit to display permit on your dashboard.

In the event the Newman Center parking garage reaches capacity you will be directed to a designated overflow lot. A parking attendant will be at the overflow lot to collect $10, and provide you with a permit, to display permit on your dashboard.

PLEASE NOTE: Parking on the University of Denver campus requires payment or a parking permit 24 hours a day.
